Call for abstracts 2018

The AEPU 2018 Organising Committee would like to invite abstract submissions for this year’s Annual Scientific Meeting – to be considered for presentation as a poster or short oral paper.

Work should have been carried out in the last 18 months, be innovative, original and must demonstrate accepted good practice.

In 2018 we are particularly interested in submissions on the themes of:

  • Surgical management of non-tubal ectopic pregnancy.
  • Safeguarding in early pregnancy.
  • Opportunistic interventions for medical conditions in early pregnancy.
  • Emergency gynaecology – sepsis, surgical conditions, and acute presentation of gynaecological oncology.

However, all submissions on topics related to early pregnancy and acute gynaecology care will be accepted for review.

Prizes will be awarded and abstracts may be published online or in print.

How to prepare and submit your abstract (deadline 17:00, Monday 17 September 2018)

Abstract submission is open now. Please follow the instructions below and submit your abstract online by 17:00 on Monday 17 September 2018:

  • Abstracts must be prepared following the formatting guidelines – please download the formatting guidelines here and ensure your abstract adheres to them.
  • When your abstract is ready, click here to enter the submission site and enter all details requested and upload your abstract (no later than 17:00 on Monday 17 September).

All presenting authors must have registered as delegates prior to submission of abstracts and the submission of an abstract serves as confirmation of the presenter’s availability to attend. If an accepted abstract cannot be presented at the conference, the conference organisers must be notified in writing at least one month ahead of the conference.

All abstracts will be acknowledged. If you have not received confirmation of receipt of your abstract with 7 days of submission, please contact the conference organisers at [email protected] or on +44 (0)20 3725 5840.

Reviewing and notification of decisions

The Scientific Committee will assess the submissions for relevance and originality. Submissions accepted for poster presentation will then be judged during the conference by members of the Scientific Committee and attended poster sessions will be an opportunity to give a brief summary of the work and discuss the findings.

Submissions accepted for oral presentation will be scheduled for presentation during the conference.

Authors will be informed whether their abstract has been accepted by email after 24 September 2018. This email will include further instructions for successful authors.

The decision of the Scientific Committee on the acceptance of the abstract is final.

Please contact Profile Productions if you have any queries regarding abstract submission: [email protected]

Submit your abstract here.
